Key Features and Developments:
Three-Runway System: The project involves converting an existing military runway (Runway 3) for joint civil-military use, extending it to handle larger aircraft, and constructing supporting taxiways to connect it to the main airport.
Airfield Lighting Systems: ADB SAFEGATE was selected to supply energy-efficient LED airfield lighting systems, including approach and sequence flashing lights, runway edge and centerline lights, taxiway lights, and LED guidance signs. These installations aim to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Mechanical and Electrical Works: The project encompasses extensive mechanical and electrical installations, including the development of airfield lighting control centers (AFLCC) to manage and monitor the new lighting systems effectively.
Drainage and Infrastructure: Comprehensive drainage systems and supporting infrastructure are being constructed to prevent flooding and ensure the operational resilience of the airfield.
